I've proudly called Rosemount home since 2009, raising my family in this wonderful community.
My daughter, Aliyah, a student at Rosemount High School, has thrived here with multiple Academic Letters and a desire to enter into the IT/AI field after her Senior Year.
I'm deeply committed to ensuring Rosemount remains a vibrant and safe place for all our families while holding onto our Hometown image. That is one of the reasons most of us moved here in the first place, right?
In my professional life, I serve as a Technical Alliance Consultant at Oracle. My role involves guiding partners through technical enablement activities, solution development, and expertise development related to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. During COVID, I formed two companies addressing needs around IT Consulting and technical entertainment projects that I continue to run as a principal owner of both.
I was track announcer and asst. coach for RAAA track for 4 solid years. Now, that was really fun, as it brought back all my past DJ skills from the mid-80's.
Something new last year, I became a Member of the Board for Rosemount Area Arts Council (RAAC), and given my technology skills, I was recognized for the Technology Chair position due to my dedication to advancing RAAC's technology needs as we look to gain a more diverse age group involved in the Arts Council (rosemountarts.com).
"Let me make this perfectly clear. If elected, I will not be working for the Council members, the Mayor, the City staff; I will be working for you, our citizens of this wonderful community.
That being said, we need to be a team, and I may not always agree with the decisions and policies brought forth to the council as recommended actions. But I promise to review diligently, and allow for constructive debate, and if it is shown to 'make sense', I will support the recommendation and provide transparent conversation back to the public when available."
Ensuring our community remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family is my top priority. I will advocate for robust support for our local police, fire departments, and emergency services.
As our city grows, we need thoughtful and sustainable planning. I will work to ensure that development projects enhance our community while preserving our natural resources and green spaces.
Small business equates to 43.5% of our national GDP in the US. Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. I will champion policies that help local businesses thrive and feel included in the community. This has the effect of creating jobs and fostering a vibrant community by making Rosemount a destination for Rosemountians as well as the surrounding communities.
I am committed to responsible budgeting and financial transparency. I will ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and that the city's finances are managed with integrity.
I will not agree to any policy in which I must act in support of outside influences that desire a path where I am not able to be fully transparent to the Public. If elected, I work for 'you', I do not work for outside influences.
